lazizzle

So for as long back as I can remember, I've been saying "All I want is a weekend without ANY work or obligations, where I can just veg and stay inside and do nothing." As an early Christmas miracle, that weekend has finally arrived. And I am going out of my skull.

"Now Kate," you may argue. "Surely there must be productive things you can do, like go through the mail, clean the house, or get a head-start on next week's work." To that I would say: "Pfffffbbffftttt."

I am paralyzed by the not HAVING to do anything, and so I'm doing NOTHING. Well, specifically, right now I'm updating my blog 99% sooner than I usually would, and I have Mitt Romney on Meet The Press paused on my TiVo. I don't want to ruin it, but his hair is parted on the left! Also, I'm checking which churches are closed because of the snowstorm. High priority stuff here. :-)

Thanks for writing in my blog Tiffany. I miss you. I want to meet your baby and your house and better get to know your man. I think the spring would be a good time for that.

Hurrah for learning!

You all probably know that a certain charge of mine is being transferred back to the public schools for his continued learningness. I, of course, have mixed feelings about this, but the child has proven incredibly capable so far. It's really exciting to watch him interact with and want to act like the other kids. It's also exciting to see him demonstrate all the impressive skills that we've taught him and prove to everyone how smart he is. So, while I wish I could keep him forever, I'm proud and happy for him. I'll miss him more than I can possibly even describe, though.

In other learning news: I am going back to grad school! I took a course this fall and I will be enrolled as of this spring in a Masters of Behavioral Education program. When I'm done, I'll take a test and be a BOARD CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR ANALYST. Then I'll go around analyzing your behavior, and you'll have to like it cause I'll be CERTIFIED. I'm excited about it. I put it off for awhile because I was afraid I'd be doing it just because I happen to be in my current job and everyone else was doing it. I didn't want to fall under the sway of Graduate School Peer Pressure. But, as with Babysitters Clubs books, I eventually came around.

I am super-excited for PA and vacation. I've procured some pretty decent presents for people, especially Connor. Don't tell him! I could probably tell you what it is, since he never reads this. Actually, no one reads this. I could reveal my secret fears. BEETS! Everyone knew that though.

The Celtics are AMAZING. I'm telling myself I'm not a fairweather friend for only starting to like them this year, since I decided to like them AS SOON as they acquired Garnett and I've loved him for years. Perhaps I'm rationalizing, but nonetheless. They're pretty friggin' awesome. It's good to live in Boston right now. Sorry "other cities."
