"z"s

Well, dani, I decided to take your sleep challenge. Friday night, I went to bed at about 1:00 and slept till noon. I only got up for about 1/2 an hour, though, before I went back to bed to snuggle with Connor who was (of course) still in bed. We stayed there until about 2:30 (sheesh!) Then I got up and cleaned until about 5:00, when I took a nap until 8:50! Then I got up, ate dinner, and read until I fell asleep at probably 11:00 and slept through the night until 10:00 Sunday morning. "All right!" I said to myself. "I'm done! I'm totally slept out!" I took a shower and went upstairs at 11:00 to get dressed. However, Connor summoned me and I said I'd snuggle for 10 minutes (no danger of getting sleepy, right?) I fell asleep until 1:15! So I think, dani, if you really put your mind to it, you could do some damage. I sure did :-) I don't regret a moment either.

blood (or pumpkin spice) is in the air

Everywhere I went today, I felt like there was conflict all around me. There was MAJOR drama at work that I can't go into on such a public forum, but suffice to say, someone could have said "rawr!" and not been out of line.
Then tonight, my friend Laura and I were walking down the street and some guy screamed out "I'm going to kill you!!!!" (there might have been expletives, I don't remember). Laura actually turned around and laughed jollily to him, which I thought was a rather odd reaction. My reaction was to walk faster. She thought it was charming? I guess? She said it was just nice to not have the "random guy on street" not be saying something sexual for once, which was kinda true.
Finally, coming home from Laura's, a brawl almost broke out in front of us in the T station. Two drunk guys bumped into each other, I guess. One guy took this as an opportunity to start something and started egging the other guy on... really provoking him. The other guy, fortunately, had about 8 friends holding him back. This guy was yelling horrible things, though, throwing stuff at him... really trying to get him to fight. It's weird. What makes you REALLY REALLY want to fight a guy and 8 of his closest friends? Connor and I think he must have been an adrenaline junkie or something. The MBTA office very helpfully stood in the corner and gaped the whole time... I don't think anything came of it. I hope not; we went downstairs. So I don't know if there's a full moon or if someone released that poison gas from the Batman Begins movie or what, but something is UP today.

On that note: Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!! May Your Holidays Be Joyful And Safe.

uuuuuuuuugggh.

This was one of those weeks where each day you have one of those moments. You know those super depressing moments where you realize it isn't Friday, it's only Tuesday, but you had totally been thinking it was Friday? Yeah, lots of those. We were moving at work, and I discovered that moving brings out the very worst in people, including me. Oh wait, I already knew that about me. Like the time I moved out of my Junior year dorm, and the campus police were coming in an hour to fine us if we weren't gone, and I discovered my friend's TV stand was still in the house, along with my other friend's 50 cans of Dinty Moore beef stew, and I had a very dramatic beef stew-related mental breakdown... just ask Connor.

Anyway... I will be very happy tomorrow when I think about how it's Friday and it really is Friday. AND... even better, next week is Thanksgiving! Wednesday through Monday I'm off from work. Boy do I need it. The wonder and joy of teaching and learning is not in me right now, I can tell you that.

electoliciousness

I'm not used to this "oh, sweet, that's nice!" feeling after elections lately. I'm especially happy that Santorum is gone. He came and spoke at our high school my senior year, and that's when I first discovered that he's cahRAZY! I asked the first question during the quesiton and answer session, and it was "What about the separation between church and state?" His answer began "Well, our country was founded on Judeo-Christian values..." Even my republican dad voted all democrat this year. He's really excited about deadlock.

I think the happiest news of the day for me wasn't the house or the senate, though, it was Rumsfeld. Although I'll miss his non-sequiters and his exasperated sing-song, I actually won't at all. Goodbye Rummy!

Why did I have to do this?

Um... all I wanted to do was comment on someone else's blog, and suddenly I was being forced to choose a template. OK: My inner thoughts and feelings for all the world to see. <--there.
